Dry Creek Laboratories (DCL)
DCL is a privately owned firm dedicated to the development and application of biotechnology within targeted perennial crops. The company serves as the technology transfer conduit through which many discoveries in its selected tree and vine crops are commercialized. John Driver, DCL president, maintains close relationships with key research institutions worldwide.

DCL research has established reliable transformation and regeneration protocols for the improvement of more than fifteen different fruit, nut, and grapevine species. DCL is capable of propagation, tissue culture, regeneration, genetic transformation, and acclimatization technologies for many of its targeted crops. DCL has both the scientific and strategic capabilities to leverage its unique position towards exploiting current and future advances in biotechnology.

In 1993, Duarte Nursery, Inc. (DNI) and DCL entered into a joint venture to explore possibilities for the development and commercialization of genetically engineered grapevines. In 1996, the companies expanded their relationship by entering into a partnership with the Duarte family members becoming equity partners in DCL. The agreement guarantees Dry Creek Laboratories long term funding for research and expansion and direct access to resources for product testing and commercialization.
